Changchun-Seoul postal route restored
|Jilin Daily|2023-03-16

At 9:20 am on March 15, with the resounding roar at the Changchun Longjia International Airport, China Southern Airlines flight CZ687 from Changchun to Seoul took off. This is the first international postal route that Jilin Postal Branch has restored at the Changchun Longjia International Airport since all inbound and outbound flights were grounded in Jilin province in 2020, and the second outbound international postal route after the resumption of the Yanji-Seoul direct postal route on February 8, marking the complete restoration of the international channels from Jilin province to South Korea as well as to Japan and the United States via South Korea.

After the outbreak of the epidemic in 2020, the outbound international shipping channels from Jilin province were severely disrupted. In order to solve the shipping problems faced by export enterprises and cross-border e-commerce companies, Jilin Postal Branch actively sought other export channels and answered the enterprises’ immediate needs by fulfilling export shipping from such ports as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Dalian.

In February this year, learning that Yanji Chaoyangchuan International Airport and Changchun Longjia International Airport were going to resume flights to Seoul, Jilin Postal Branch planned in advance and made meticulous preparations to seize this favorable opportunity. It adjusted the international postal routes bound for South Korea, Japan and the United States immediately, switching the departure ports outside Jilin province back to Changchun and Yanji, so as to reduce the transit time of EMS items destined for South Korea, Japan and the United States, and offer faster services to enterprises and e-commerce platforms with the above-mentioned export destinations. Since the resumption of Yanji-Seoul direct postal air route, 9.9 tonnes of mail has been shipped. And the first Changchun-Seoul direct flight resumed was carrying 226 bags of international mail with the weight of 1,418 kilograms.

As the “national team” of the express delivery industry within the province, Jilin Postal Branch actively fulfills its social responsibilities and provides international EMS, international parcels, e-Packet, China Express and other products for export-oriented enterprises and public institutions, cross-border e-commerce clients, Chinese students studying overseas and Chinese people working abroad. It has also integrated international postal channel resources, professional operation teams and information systems, and launched China Postal Warehousing Service to meet different needs in the international market.
