On July 5, the British magazine The Banker published the list of the Top 1000 World Banks 2023. The Postal Savings Bank of China (hereinafter referred to as PSBC) ranked 12th with a tier one capital of 117.312 billion US dollars by the end of 2022, one place higher than last year. Up to now, it has remained among the top 20 world banks for three consecutive years.

Since 1970, The Banker has been releasing the list of the Top 1000 World Banks every year. It ranks the banks around the world based on tier one capital and other key indicators so as to reflect the changes in their strength. According to the ranking of its tier one capital in 2023, PSBC has leapfrogged 51 places from 63th in 2014, when it joined in the ranking for the first time.

A total of 140 Chinese banks are on the list of the Top 1000 World Banks 2023, with their tier one capital coming up to 3.3 trillion US dollars. And 10 out of these 140 banks made it into the top 20.
