Based on the principle of equality and mutual benefit, and aiming to facilitate economic cooperation and all-round development of trade between China and Kyrgyzstan, the People’s Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China and the Cabinet of the Kyrgyz Republic (here “the Kyrgyz Republic” and “Kyrgyzstan” are used interchangeably) signed an agreement on actively pushing forward the speedy transit scheme for postal items, expanding postal cooperation, and promoting the development of cross-border e-commerce on August 16.
The agreement specifies that Xinjiang Postal Branch and Kyrgyz Post are responsible for the mail transport affairs in the speedy transit scheme. According to the scheme, quick transit should be administered to international mail items and cross-border e-commerce goods transported via the Bishkek Office of Exchange in Kyrgyzstan and the Kashgar Office of Exchange in Xinjiang, so as to ensure the rapid passage of postal vehicles or designated transport vehicles from both sides. In the future, the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Cabinet of the Kyrgyz Republic will also conduct a feasibility analysis on the speedy transit scheme between the Osh Office of Exchange in Kyrgyzstan and the Kashgar Office of Exchange.
