|China Post News|2023-10-14

On October 11, Chairman Liu Aili of China Post Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Post) met with Turkka Kuusisto, president and CEO of Posti Group Corporation of Finland (hereinafter referred to as Posti), and his entourage in Beijing. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on cooperation in cross-border logistics, e-commerce, and green and low-carbon development, and agreed to set up a joint working group to promote the cooperation and development of postal services between the two countries.

Liu Aili extended a warm welcome to Turkka Kuusisto and his entourage, highly appreciated the long-term cooperation between the two parties, and introduced the reform and development of China Post in recent years. He said, China Post has developed into a large modern enterprise group with coordinated operations of varied services. It gives full play to the resource advantages of post offices in all townships and direct postal services to all administrative villages, as well as its integrated flow of commodity, logistics, capital and information, to support the national strategy of rural revitalization and lay a solid foundation for facilitating modernization of agriculture and rural areas. At the same time, with ecological conservation as its major corporate responsibility, China Post has taken the lead in launching the green post initiative, and continually carried out the “three major projects” of green packaging, green transportation and green finance. As a result, China Post has seen phased and visualized achievements in the overall leap of green development, and strengthened its leading position and demonstration role in the industry.

Liu Aili said, Europe is the second largest region for China Post’s outbound international services. From January to September 2023, China Post witnessed substantial growth in the volume of its main products to Finland, hence great potential for cooperation between the two sides. He hopes that the two sides can strengthen the interconnection of the postal networks, ensure the smooth transportation of mail and the timely provision of mail information, and improve the efficiency of customs clearance. He also hopes that the two sides can make use of the resources of cargo hold on return flights, so as to drive the growth of their inbound and outbound mail volume and achieve win-win development.

Turkka Kuusisto highly praised the achievements China Post has made in its reform and development in recent years and introduced the development of Posti. According to Turkka Kuusisto, Posti is a leading delivery business in Finland and highly competitive in the Nordic region, with its services covering the whole world. At present, Posti is undergoing reform and transformation. It is committed to green and low-carbon development and is building a sustainable development model. He hopes to learn from China Post the advanced experience in rural e-commerce, technology empowerment and construction of mail processing capacity during peak times. He also hopes that the two sides can strengthen international business relations, so as to better serve their customers and further develop their services.
