|China Post|2023-10-13

Recently, Chairman Liu Aili and Vice President Kang Ning of China Post Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Post Group) and their entourage conducted a research tour in China Post Hong Kong Limited (hereinafter referred to as CPHKL). While in Hong Kong, Liu Aili also visited the General Post Office at 2 Connaught Palace, the exhibition “A Journey Through Hong Kong’s Postal History” and Postal Gallery of Hongkong Post, and discussed cross-border mail delivery and logistics cooperation, resource integration and business connection with corresponding executives of Hongkong Post, China Merchants Group Sinotrans Limited and Hong Kong International Airport.

Accompanied by Postmaster General of Hongkong Post TAI Shuk-yiu, Liu Aili visited the self-service iPostal Stations, iPostal Kiosks, the General Post Office at 2 Connaught Palace and other postal outlets of Hongkong Post. After that, both sides held talks. Liu Aili pointed out that CPHKL should strengthen overseas collective marketing and scale up cross-border delivery service. It should collaborate with Hongkong Post to advance the innovation of customs clearance model by General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) and strengthen cooperation in cross-border cold chain business. CPHKL should actively explore innovation of its business model and promote mail transit cooperation with Hongkong Post. At the same time, China Post and Hongkong Post should deepen cooperation in stamp issuance, so as to better tell China’s stories and carry forward the fine traditional Chinese culture.

At Hong Kong International Airport Transit Mail Centre (TMC), Liu Aili extended his gratitude to the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) for its strong support for the TMC construction. He stressed that relevant departments of China Post Group and CPHKL should enhance the awareness of costs and efficiency and scientifically plan the construction of TMC according to changes in market situation and business forms. They should further benchmark the advanced technology in the industry, and greatly optimize their functional layout, so as to expand their business, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operation, and fortify security.

During his research tour, Liu Aili listened to CPHKL’s work report, highly affirmed its work in recent years, and put forward requirements for its future work. He pointed out, CPHKL should always bear in mind the country’s most fundamental interests, think, position and plan its work from the perspective of the country’s big-picture, and demonstrate its responsibilities as the “national team” in building an efficient and smooth logistics system and supporting the national strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. CPHKL should define its development positioning clearly. It should start with the new positioning, launch new business layout, make new achievements, and create a new situation, so as to give play to its role as an “international gateway” in the development of the whole postal network and take on its mission as the main operator of international business. It should also accelerate the deployment of overseas business, comply with the overseas operating rules of international business, and uphold the philosophy of innovation, openness and cooperation, so as to drive new breakthroughs in international business.
