On October 23, the study tour of the 54th Asian-Pacific Postal Union (APPU) postal management course (PMC) hosted by China Post Group Corporation Limited concluded successfully at Shijiazhuang Posts and Telecommunications Technical College (SPTC). Altogether 12 postal representatives from APPU member countries including India, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Bhutan, Cambodia, Japan, Sri Lanka and China participated in the 6-day study tour in China.

Commissioned by Secretary-General Vinaya Prakash Singh of APPU, the study tour aimed to learn from China Post its advanced concepts and practice in logistics, e-commerce and distribution services, study its innovation, application and achievements of digital and intelligence technology, experience fine traditional Chinese culture, and learn about the construction of the “future city” in China under technology empowerment, so as to boost international cooperation and people-to-people exchanges among Posts in Asia-Pacific region. China Post hosted this study tour on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Over the past 10 years, China Post, staying true to its mission of serving the BRI and connecting the world, has given active play to its role as the national team of the industry, and achieved fruitful results in serving the high-quality development of the Belt and Road cooperation. The study tour is an important move of China Post to leverage its advantages in education and training and deepen connectivity of Posts in Belt and Road countries and regions. With SPTC’s teaching and research advantages, China Post aims to build this affiliated college into an international study base to facilitate its postal service, sci-tech and training programs to go global, therefore benefiting the development of postal services and skilled personnel in Asia-Pacific region.
