A few days ago, the departure ceremony of postal vehicles for their first export shipping under Hunan-Guangdong-Hong Kong “Single E-lock Scheme (SELS)” in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture was held in Xiangxi Mail Distribution Center. The ceremony was hosted by the People's Government of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture and co-organized by the Customs at Xiangxi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture, the Commerce Bureau of the prefecture, Xiangxi Postal Branch, member service center of the Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Hunan Shibadong Qixiu Agriculture Development Co., Ltd.

At the ceremony, after passing customs inspection and quarantine, 57 boxes (weighing more than 180 kilograms) of Shibadong golden tea were loaded onto the special mail trucks of China Post and dispatched to Hong Kong under the SELS. This is the first time that the golden tea from Shibadong village has been exported.

It is reported that the SELS of Hunan province was officially launched in Changsha on June 13. Compared with the traditional mode of customs transit by land, the SELS has many advantages: Customs authorities of Changsha and Hong Kong carry out supervision on the import and export goods, which will be automatically released by Shenzhen Customs, enabling the transport vehicles to cross the border directly. In this way, Hunan-Guangdong-Hong Kong through mail trucks can make round trips within 24 hours. The SELS provides a new channel for Hunan products to go global, with which specialties from Hunan province can be transported directly to Hong Kong by land and then to the world.
