At 10:13 on November 7, China Postal Airlines Flight CF231 took off from Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport in Hebei province, and arrived at Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan, at 13:14, marking the official launch of China Post’s Shijiazhuang-Tokyo air cargo and mail route.
China Postal Airlines operates the route with Boeing B737-800F aircraft, two flights a week on Tuesday and Friday, with a maximum capacity of 18 tonnes each flight. This is another international air cargo and mail route launched by China Post from Shijiazhuang, following Shijiazhuang-Seoul route opened on September 27. With Shijiazhuang-Tokyo route, China Post currently has 9 routes to Japan in its independent aviation network.
Apart from EMS items, the Shijiazhuang-Tokyo route mainly conveys e-commerce express items, which are declared and cleared as cross-border e-commerce goods. The practice of “release upon manifest verification and consolidated declaration” is adopted for customs clearance, to reduce the costs of customs clearance and improve the clearance efficiency for enterprises, thus tapping into the overall strengths of the policies for pilot free trade zones, airports and cross-border e-commerce. This route is opened during the “Double 11” online shopping spree, which makes it a “timely rain” for this peak season.
