Following the normal operation of the Hunchun (China)-Yekaterinburg/Kazan (Russia) highway postal route, the special train service for postal items on Hunchun (China)-Makhalino (Russia) railway was officially opened at 9:00 a.m. on November 10.

Hunchun-Makhalino railway is one of the major cross-border channels for China’s Belt and Road Initiative. With the strong support of relevant departments, Hunchun Postal Branch has seized the development opportunity and enabled the successful launch of the Hunchun-Makhalino railway postal route. With this route, the time limit for cross-border items to Russia may be greatly shortened, the stability of their timeliness may be improved, and the competitiveness of Hunchun in cross-border e-commerce market enhanced.

The first special train on this route loaded with 13150 mail items departed directly from Hunchun for Vladivostok, Russia. At present, the volume of mail dispatched by Hunchun Postal Branch to Russia through highway and railway has reached 105,600 pieces, generating international business revenue of 4,254,300 yuan (about 595,970 US dollars).
