From January to November, Urumqi Office of Exchange handled a total of 6.876 million mail items, a year-on-year increase of 196.5 percent.

In November, Urumqi Office of Exchange handled a total of 844,000 international mail items, a year-on-year increase of 314.5 percent. According to Ma Ling, director of Urumqi Office of Exchange, they have transferred Cainiao mail items from Guangzhou warehouse to Xi’an warehouse, reducing transportation time by about 2 days. The peak sales season coming in December this year and January next year coincides with the Christmas season in the West. Therefore, the processing volume is expected to keep increasing. In this case, Urumqi Office of Exchange has adjusted shifts and organized highly skilled staff members to work on the front lines to cope with mail volume growth. It will also take advantage of the automatic sorting machines to achieve quick sorting and speed up mail processing. Meanwhile, it has actively communicated with the customs at the airport to ensure fast customs clearance of mail items.
