|China Post News|2024-03-20

On March 18, Chairman Liu Aili of China Post Group Corporation Limited met with CEO of Posta Romana Valentin Stefan and his entourage at the headquarters of China Post Group in Beijing. They had in-depth discussion on deepening practical cooperation to promote the development of postal services in China and Romania, and jointly witnessed the signing of a bilateral agreement on e-Packet service.

Liu Aili extended a warm welcome to Valentin Stefan and his entourage, and introduced the reform and development of China Post in recent years. He said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Romania, China Post and Posta Romana have been maintaining long-term sound cooperation under the multilateral framework of the Universal Postal Union. In recent years, the exchanges between China and Romania have become closer; bilateral trade volume has kept growing; and cooperation between the two Posts has shown great potential. He hopes that both sides may grasp the opportunities brought about by the rapid development of cross-border e-commerce to carry out close cooperation. The two Posts can conduct special research on terminal dues, customs inspection time, B2C last mile delivery and B2B freight service, so as to improve service quality, and expand cooperation scope, thus achieving mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, and making positive contributions to boosting bilateral economic and trade exchanges and fulfilling people’s demands for postal services in the two countries.

Valentin Stefan highly praised the achievements China Post has made in its reform and development. He said, Romanian government has always been encouraging Posta Romana to carry out extensive exchanges and cooperation with China Post. According to Valentin Stefan, Romania is an important gateway to the European Union, where Posta Romana has established its own delivery network. Posta Romana is willing to strengthen cooperation with China Post and smooth the new channel of China-Europe mail transport. It will quickly coordinate and optimize the transport time and terminal dues outside Romania, so as to jointly enhance the competitiveness of their products, and boost the high-quality development of the two Posts.

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on philately cooperation, and agreed to reinforce joint research on the subject selection of stamps and joint development of philatelic products, so as to drive the cooperation between the two sides to a new level.
