26th Shanghai Philatelic Festival kicks off
|China Post News|2024-03-08

On March 5, the launch ceremony of the 26th Shanghai Philatelic Festival and the opening ceremony of the philatelic exhibition were held at Shanghai General Post Office Building. Based on the theme of celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and welcoming in China 2024 Asian International Stamp Exhibition, this year’s philatelic festival will carry out activities at the main venue and sub-venues, so as to better tell China’s stories with exquisite stamps, pay tribute to the birthday of New China, and warm up for the international stamp exhibition.

The philatelic exhibition this year brings together 79 philatelic works with 248 frames of exhibits meticulously compiled by the philatelists in Shanghai, featuring more than a dozen FIP (International Philatelic Federation) competition categories such as traditional philately, postal stationery and thematic philately, etc. The quantity and quality of the exhibits have both improved compared with previous years, and quite a few high-level newcomers with novel exhibits have emerged, which not only showcases the ingenuity and profound cultural heritage of the philatelists in Shanghai, but also vividly reflects the innovation and development of philately.

With the exhibition in the annual philatelic festival, Shanghai Postal Branch hopes to work with every philatelist to hold on to and carry forward the philatelic culture, promote the development of philately and contribute to strengthening cultural confidence. At the same time, as a warm-up for China 2024 Asian International Stamp Exhibition, the exhibition will further promote the exchanges and dissemination of international philatelic culture and foster a strong atmosphere for the upcoming grand event.
