On the afternoon of March 20, a Mongolian postal vehicle fully loaded with mail items departed for Ulaanbaatar of Mongolia from Erenhot Office of Exchange (and Mail Unit) in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, marking the successful opening of the Erenhot “China-Mongolia” land mail route and the smooth exportation of the first batch of e-parcel items.

This is another northward land mail route opened by Inner Mongolia Postal Branch, following the normal operation of the China-Russia Manzhouli land mail route, and is therefore of great significance in building Inner Mongolia into a gateway for northward opening up. In July 2023, Inner Mongolia Postal Branch resumed the Erenhot Office of Exchange (and Mail Unit) and developed the special product of e-parcel. After that, it collaborated with Hohhot Customs District to accelerate the development of the China-Mongolia mail route. They completed the connection of relevant systems quickly, formulated management measures of Customs transit supervision, and enabled the Mongolia-bound mail items sent from Erenhot to be inspected and dispatched locally, eliminating the transit process. Consequently, it has facilitated improving the quality and efficiency of postal services while achieving effective customs supervision, and reducing the overall mail processing time by about seven days.
