From March 27 to 29, the 2024 Global Logistics Technology Conference, hosted by China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, was held in Haikou, Hainan. Postal Science Research and Planning Institute Co. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as PSRPI) of China Post Group selected 10 scientific research representatives to attend the conference and share experience there.
The conference was unveiled with one main forum on “black technologies” in logistics and 11 professional forums, bringing together a range of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, foundation model, self-driving, BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, green and low-carbon development and human-AI collaboration. It invited more than 100 renowned experts and scholars as well as over 50 well-established businesses and universities including China Post, JD, Cainiao, Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba, Siemens, Tsinghua University, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Tilburg University in the Netherlands to showcase the latest technological achievements in their respective fields, attracting altogether 1,500 industry delegates to participate. At the sub-forum on packaging and unitization of logistics, Chen Gang, deputy director of Parcel, Express and Logistics Research Institute of PSRPI, made a keynote speech entitled “Policies on and Industry Practices of Green Packaging and Waste Reduction”, in which he systematically introduced the policies, regulations and standards of green packaging, and shared the practices of packaging reduction carried out by China Post in recent years.
The conference awarded and commended the organization and individual winners in the logistics industry, among which Zhong Cenhong from PSRPI won the award for artisans of logistics technology in 2024. Three scientific research projects of PSRPI were awarded the 2024 Logistics Technology Innovation Cases, namely, Research and Application of New Biodegradable Adhesive Tapes for Postal Use, Research on Digital Simulation in Logistics Sorting Centers and Research on Carbon Emission Evaluation Index System of China Post.
