Recently, China Post Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Post Group) released its Green Post initiative and environmental protection priorities for 2024, laying out detailed measures from four aspects to comprehensively push on with its Green Post initiative.
First, China Post Group will deeply promote the green transition of express packaging. It will improve packaging standardization, step up efforts to publicize and implement national and corporate standards. It will raise the proportion of recycling and reuse, especially the recycling and reuse of express packaging. It will also scientifically push forward waste reduction, unceasingly promoting e-shipping labels, deciding on reasonable packaging materials and methods, and restricting excessive packaging. Moreover, it will strengthen control over harmless disposal of waste, and conduct testing of packaging materials for postal and express items.
Second, China Post Group will persistently improve green transportation. It will continue to promote the use of new and clean energy vehicles. It will also optimize the mode of transport organization, improve air cargo capacity allocation, increase the reach and efficiency of mail transport by high-speed rail, and constantly promote the use of large-tonnage vehicles. At the same time, it will enhance the application of intelligent transport technology, improve information systems and intelligent optimization algorithms, optimize the routes and schedules for trunk and branch line vehicles, and promote intelligent transport capacity matching system.
Third, China Post Group will persistently intensify green finance innovation. It will drive innovation in green products and services, including green inclusive financial products, carbon financial products and climate-friendly financial products. It will accelerate the development of the green insurance product system, infuse green and health concepts into the research and development of insurance products, and expand insurance coverage, product range, and service. Furthermore, it will promote low-carbon services, identify customer needs through blockchain and big data technologies, and offer targeted and personalized green financial services.
Fourth, China Post Group will steadily advance green and low-carbon development. It will continue to construct green facilities, including green distribution centers and green postal outlets, install rooftop photovoltaic system in postal premises, and innovate last-mile delivery means. In addition, it will keep creating a green workplace, promote green working and dining environment, refine vehicle management, and strengthen electricity and water management, thus fostering an atmosphere for green and low-carbon development.
