On May 9, the organizing committee for China 2024 Asia International Stamp Exhibition was established and its first meeting was held in Beijing. Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng, also chairman of the committee, attended the meeting. Director-general of the State Post Bureau Zhao Chongjiu, also vice-chairman of the committee, presided over the meeting.

The meeting pointed out, as the national business card and mini encyclopedia, stamps are a unique showcase for the history and culture of a country and the ethos of a nation. By organizing the stamp exhibition, China will vigorously promote and demonstrate the great achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, deepen philatelic exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries, and promote the development of culture and postal services in China. Moreover, it will facilitate Asian countries to gain better knowledge of China, extend the reach and appeal of Chinese civilization, and drive multilateral exchanges and cooperation. The meeting emphasized that the stamp exhibition should be built into a platform to showcase the development achievements of the new era, a platform to actively serve the national strategies, and a platform to enhance the international influence of Chinese culture. With the organic combination of international practices and Chinese characteristics, it aims to vigorously raise China’s voice in international philatelic circle, and contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to the development of international philately.

The meeting heard reports on the composition of the organizing committee and the support work related to the stamp exhibition, reviewed and approved the general plan for China 2024 Asia International Stamp Exhibition and the formation plan for the executive committee.
