On May 21, an evening party was held in Chengdu, Sichuan, to release the data collected by the 2023-2024 China Economic Life Survey, which was jointly initiated by China Media Group, the National Bureau of Statistics, China Post Group Corporation Limited and the National School of Development at Peking University. The event released a series of important data concerning people’s demand for consumption, desire for travel, innovation and entrepreneurship trends, application of artificial intelligence and satisfaction with their cities from the survey in which hundreds of thousands of people were involved. It also unveiled “China’s Better Life Cities” in the eyes of the general public, and launched commemorative philatelic products with limited circulation co-branded by China Post and the China Economic Life Survey.
Since 2006, China Post has been cooperating with the China Economic Life Survey for 18 consecutive years. Leveraging its extensive network in urban and rural areas, China Post conducts a household questionnaire survey on 100,000 households in over 150 cities and 300 counties across the country every year, providing valuable data for government decision-making, business operations and family lives. This year, based on the three major lists released in the event, both parties have elaborately designed personalized stamps on the themes of “Top 10 Livable Cities”, “Revitalized Cities of the Year”, and “Cultural Cities of the Year” as well as connected postcards of the “Top 10 Livable Cities” with limited circulation. The designs incorporate iconic buildings, natural scenery and distinctive culture of the cities, convey people’s longing for a better life, and bear testimony to the constant efforts of the two parties to deliver a better life and promote social development.
