On May 25, the 2024 National Science and Technology Week kicked off. Aligned with the event, China Post held its first Sci-tech Innovation Week from May 27 to 31, on the theme of “Fostering new quality productive forces, stimulating new momentum for boosting postal services through science and technology”.

During the Sci-tech Innovation Week, there will be four major activities. First, China Post Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Post Group) will release an application and promotion catalogue of China Post’s outstanding sci-tech innovation achievements in 2024, which includes 26 innovations in the fields of digital intelligence, information technology, automation and green development. Second, China Post Group will hold two online presentations to promote its technological achievements in the new technology for intelligent marketing and that for intelligent production and operations on May 27 and May 31. Third, it will hold four online lectures on sci-tech innovation on May 29, on the topics of “New Trends in the Development of Cutting-edge Technology”, “Best Practices of Technology Innovation in SOEs”, “Innovation in Digital Intelligence Drives High Quality Development”, and “AI Large Models Empower Digital Intelligence Innovation”. Fourth, China Post Group will launch the first China Post AI Competition. The competition consists of two sub-competitions—AI algorithm modeling and AI scenario application, and will last until December 31 this year.

In the past three years, the number of national and provincial (ministry)-level sci-tech awards won by China Post has increased by 83 percent, the average annual growth rate of its patents has reached 47.6 percent, and the application rate of its sci-tech achievements has exceeded 90 percent. Meanwhile, the sci-tech infrastructure architecture of China Post and its corporate-level laboratory system have been basically completed, and its scientific research team has been growing day by day, all of which has provided strong technical support for postal services in an all-round manner.
