Recently, Urumqi Municipal Administration of Government Services of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Urumqi Postal Branch and several financial institutions to jointly create “government services plus financial services” and “government services plus postal services” models. So far, 221 government-bank and government-post cooperation outlets have been established across Urumqi, covering all the main streets in the downtown area. Urban residents can find a government service outlet within a one-kilometer radius, noting the initial progress on the “fifteen-minute radius government service coverage” in Urumqi.

According to an official from the relevant department of Urumqi Municipal Administration of Government Services, service personnel from the newly established government-bank cooperation outlets, having all been trained, can provide individuals and enterprises with 200 most-needed government services such as application for business licenses, inquiry about housing provident fund information, alteration of household registration information and so on. The “government services plus financial services” model launched under the “fifteen-minute radius government service coverage” project will further promote a mutually beneficial situation where the public gets benefits, banks expand their business, and the government improves services.

As is reported, the first batch of government-bank cooperation outlets were officially put in operation in Urumqi in November last year. With this agreement, 106 more government-bank and government-post cooperation outlets will be established in the postal outlets and business outlets of financial institutions in Urumqi.
