On July 16, China Post launched a round-trip air cargo and mail route between Yiwu, Zhejiang province, and Manila, the Philippines. This is the second international air cargo and mail route opened by China Post in Yiwu, following the route to Osaka, Japan. Yiwu has thus become another key node city, after Shanghai, with two international routes on China Post’s independent aviation network.

The opening and regular operation of this route will provide a more convenient and efficient air logistics channel for the development of the local economy in Yiwu. It will better meet the air cargo needs of the cross-border e-commerce enterprises there, and provide support for accelerating the construction of Yiwu Free Trade Zone, Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Yiwu Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone. At present, this route operates three times per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday respectively. In the future, flights will be increased in due course based on the development of the e-commerce business of Zhejiang Postal Branch.
