China Post Group ranks 83rd on 2024 Fortune Global 500 list and first in global postal sector

On August 5, Fortune released the 2024 Fortune Global 500. China Post Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Post Group) ranks 83rd among the global 500, and first among global postal operators by revenue and profit. Since its first leap into the top 100 in 2020, China Post Group has now been among the top 100 for the fifth consecutive year.

After years of development, China Post Group has evolved from a traditional postal enterprise primarily engaging in letters, parcels, remittance, newspaper and periodical distribution, philately and other services, to a conglomerate that not only provides universal and special postal services but also operates modern finance, express and logistics and e-commerce, integrating the flow of commodity, logistics, capital and information.

In 2023, China Post Group consistently pushed forward its high-quality development, strived to promote transformation and increase efficiency, and enabled effective improvement in quality and reasonable growth in quantity. It accomplished better-than-anticipated performance and results amidst the prevailing circumstances, and laid a solid foundation for enhancing its strength and quality and building itself into a world-class enterprise.

In the first half of this year, China Post Group maintained strategic determination, accurately assessed the situation, and made every effort to cope with challenges. Focusing on core strengths and strategic missions, it made breakthrough progress in a series of major top-level designs aiming at laying foundations, delivering long-term benefits and consolidating fundamentals, sustained a favorable momentum of development, and bolstered confidence in future growth. In the first half of this year, China Post Group generated a revenue of 360.309 billion yuan (about 50.30 billion US dollars), exceeding the scheduled progress by 1.8 percentage points. It made a profit of 59.7 billion yuan (about 8.33 billion US dollars), surpassing the scheduled progress by 68.92 percentage points, 9.5 billion yuan (about 1.33 billion US dollars) higher than the annual budget goal, delivering better-than-anticipated development outcomes.
