On August 26, Lou Yangsheng, secretary of CPC Henan Provincial Committee, held talks with Chairman Liu Aili of China Post Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Post Group). Wang Kai, governor of Henan province, attended the talks. The Henan provincial government and China Post Group signed a cooperation agreement. Prior to their talks, Wang Kai and Liu Aili jointly launched China Post air hub project in Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone.
Lou Yangsheng expressed his gratitude to China Post Group for its long-term support for Henan’s economic and social development. China Post air hub project and the cooperation agreement mark a new phase of comprehensively deepening cooperation between the two parties, and are bound to play a significant role in consolidating and enhancing the status of China’s central region as an area of “three bases and one hub” (i.e. the country’s important grain production base, energy and raw material base, modern equipment manufacturing and high-tech industry base and comprehensive transportation hub). Lou hopes that both parties can take the events as a new starting point, fully leverage China Post’s capabilities and advantages, and join hands to build an integrated and efficient logistics hub and develop a port economy featuring internal and external coordination and closely linked industries. Consequently, they can help build Henan province into a pilot zone for hub economy with international influence, and make contributions to smoothing the artery routes and corridors and promoting the rise of the central region. Henan will further improve its project promotion mechanism to ensure the early start, early completion, early operation, and early outcomes of the project, and set a new model of cooperation between central enterprises and local governments.
Liu Aili said, locating the air hub in Zhengzhou perfectly aligns with the development needs of both Henan province and China Post Group. It is conducive to enhancing the security and resilience of China Postal Airlines’ independent route network, promoting the development of postal and express transportation network with reasonable layout and global coverage, ensuring the smooth flow and public satisfaction of the universal postal service products, and enabling broader and deeper external exchanges of Zhengzhou and the central region. Liu hopes to build this project into an industry benchmark. China Post will continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation with Henan in such areas as modern logistics system construction, financial services, and rural revitalization, and make positive contributions to the modernization of Henan and the rise of the central region.
China Post air hub project is a strategic infrastructure leading the development of modern logistics. It integrates air and land transportation, domestic and international services, mail and cargo handling, warehousing and sorting. The project planning includes facilities like the air transit center and the comprehensive support base for China Postal Airlines, and airside supporting projects, aiming to establish a world-class international postal and express hub. The construction of the project is strategically significant for consolidating and enhancing Zhengzhou’s status as an international air cargo hub and building it into an inland pacesetter for opening up.
According to the agreement, China Post Group and the Henan provincial government will jointly promote the sharing of county-level postal services, transportation, e-commerce, industries, tourism and other resources, push forward construction of the three-tiered mail delivery and logistics system at counties, townships and villages, and improve mail delivery and logistics service capacity in rural areas. They will jointly boost basic public services in urban and rural areas, smooth the sales channels of agricultural products, make it possible for postal financial services to support the high-quality development of local economy, and press ahead with the high-quality development of rural cultural industries, so as to better meet the production and living needs of rural residents.
