Recently, Zhuhai Postal Branch in Guangdong province has officially launched its cross-border e-commerce retail export business under the 9610 customs supervision code, enabling the integrated customs clearance for international mail, international commercial express, and cross-border e-commerce services.

In July 2023, the Xiangzhou district government of Zhuhai and Zhuhai Postal Branch signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement, listing the construction of Zhuhai Office of Exchange and the international business operation center of Zhuhai Postal Branch as one of the three mainly supported supervision sites in Zhuhai. During the reengineering, Gongbei Customs District and its subordinate Jiuzhou Customs House helped the postal branch in addressing operational needs, and provided more optimized adjustment and reengineering plans in improving the utilization efficiency of the site, equipment and system resources. While ensuring that the customs supervision site conforms to relevant norms and that smooth operations can be guaranteed, customs authorities adapted to the development trends towards integrated and intelligent supervision, transformed the conventional practice where customs inspections for different business had to be conducted at different sites and customs supervision modes had to be switched, and made it possible to complete the integrated customs clearance for international mail, international commercial express and cross-border e-commerce items within the same site and at the same time through information systems.

With the cross-border ecommerce retail export business under the 9610 customs supervision code, Zhuhai Postal Branch is expected to generate an annual average customs clearance volume of over five million pieces, enabling the throughput of inbound and outbound goods and mail items to reach more than 2000 tonnes.
