Nima Lamu, Tibetan and CPC member, is now working as a rural mail carrier for the post office in Yunling township of Deqin county in Diqing Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Southwest China’s Yunnan province.

Nima Lamu started her career as a rural mail carrier in 1999. She has delivered mail for eight years by ziplining and for over 10 years on foot since then. For over a decade years, she walked every day on three mail routes with a total of about 350 kilometers, carrying a 20-kilogram mail bag on her back, to provide universal postal service for more than 5,800 Tibetan compatriots living in dozens of villages scattered across 960 square kilometers in Yunling township. During those years, she traveled more than 200,000 kilometers altogether, without a delay in one scheduled delivery or loss of one mail item.

Nima Lamu has successively won such honors as Woman Pacesetter of Yunnan province, model mail carrier across the national postal system, March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter of Yunnan province, exemplary individual across the national postal system and model worker across the national transportation system.
