On September 28, the first 24-hour smart self-service pickup station built by Wuhan Postal Branch was officially launched at Baisha Silu Post Office of Wuhan Hongshan Branch in Hubei province. The station features round-the-clock convenient mailing and pick-up, full-process smart operation and overall security guarantee, and has established five functional areas, namely mail query area, mail storage area, self-service mailing area, intelligent mail outbound area and shoe and clothing try-on area, capable of lodging more than 400 parcels.

It is Hubei Postal Branch that has focused on addressing the last-one-hundred-meter express delivery service, explored and innovated the service mode on the principle of digital and intelligent empowerment, experience optimization and people orientation, and finally developed such a fully functional and unattended smart self-service pickup station. The station can provide customers with 24-hour self-service for pick-up, mailing and return, which breaks the limitations of traditional postal outlets for service hours and efficiency.

As is reported, with the smart station, a recipient can pick up several parcels simultaneously. When the recipient scans the code, the indicator lights of the same color will flicker on his/her parcels, which is conducive to quick identification and efficiency improvement. Besides, a fitting room is established thoughtfully in the station, allowing recipients to try on items on site so that they can return or exchange the items immediately if not satisfied.
