Recently, Heilongjiang Postal Branch, in cooperation with Daxing’anling Postal Branch, has succeeded in testing the drone delivery in the Greater Hinggan Mountains area.

The route for this test is from Jianan village to Shuanghe village and then to Dongshan village in Daxing’anling prefecture (a prefecture located in the Greater Hinggan Mountains). The altitude ranges from 1000 meters to 1400 meters in this area, which is sparsely populated and mostly covered with virgin forests. Along the route, a drone needs to fly over complex landforms such as dense forests, swamps, and rivers. The drone under test can autonomously complete obstacle avoidance, hovering, positioning, and other functions, and fly 20 kilometers at an altitude of 120 meters and a speed of 15 meters per second, with a maximum payload of 10 kilograms.

With the successful test, the drone delivery will strongly support Heilongjiang Postal Branch in further improving the quality of its postal services in remote areas and areas with complex terrain, making it convenient for people living in such areas to receive mail items, and facilitating selling agricultural products in such areas to the outside world. Meanwhile, this test will provide effective basic data for drone deliveries. In the future, Heilongjiang Postal Branch will continue to respond to the development of low-altitude economy and extend drone transportation to emergency rescue by the government and other areas.
