Recently, the second batch of demonstration cases for the integrated development of transport and tourism were released, and five theme post offices of China Post entered the list. These post offices respectively feature the Museum of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Palace Museum, the ethnic culture of Shibadong, Mount Qomolangma and Tibetan culture, and the ancient city of Kashgar.
With an exclusive postal code 100100, the theme post office of the Museum of the CPC embodies profound revolutionary culture and historical imprints. It displays rare CPC-themed postage stamps, exhibits and sells themed philatelic products, and provides universal postal service and postal self-service facilities, thus delivering rich and special cultural services to visitors. Since the opening of the museum, the theme post office has launched 56 cultural and creative products, enabling visitors to take the history of the CPC back home with them.
The Palace Museum Post Office provides tourists with a variety of postal cultural and creative products related to the thematic culture of the Palace Museum, as well as universal postal service. The post office has developed 246 postal cultural and creative products, showcasing the beauty of the Palace Museum thoroughly. Among its offerings, themed philatelic products including the bookplates entitled Four Seasons in the Palace Museum present the seasonal scenery and rare collections of the Palace Museum on the small stamps, thereby gaining high popularity among visitors.
Located at Shibadong village, Huayuan county, Xiangxi Tujia-Miao autonomous prefecture in Hunan province, Shibadong Post Office takes the unique local ethnic culture as its theme and boasts a wide range of themed products. The Heavenly Tibet Themed Post Office at Mount Qomolangma is the highest post office in the world, with a straight-line distance of 19 kilometers from the summit of Mount Qomolangma, the world’s highest peak. Located in the tourist destination of the ancient city of Kashgar in Kashgar prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the series of theme post offices consist of five “Yakexi” (meaning “excellent” in Uygur language) post offices, the Kashgar Ancient City Post Office, the East Gate Post Office, the Silk Road Post Office and the Time Post Office.
