Kang Zhi, deputy postmaster and business manager of Tsinghua University Post Office in Haidian district under Beijing Postal Branch.
Since he began working in the postal system in 2011, Kang Zhi has been busy rushing along the streets and alleys of the capital city of China as a bee, delivering more than 400,000 mail items without a single error.
Self-motivated, he studied and practiced diligently, and strived to arm himself with knowledge and skills. In 2017, he was honored with the title of “national technical expert” at postal services. In 2020, Kang Zhi used his independently created method on the “handover among outlets” project, and won full marks in the second “Beijing Master Craftsman” Professional Challenge among Couriers. In the end, he was awarded the “Beijing Master Craftsman” with the highest overall score in that challenge. In 2021, he, as the head coach, led the team from Beijing Postal Branch to participate in the second Beijing Postal Industry Vocational Skills Competition. Under his guidance, all five contestants of the team won awards, securing first and second places in the competition. Later, in the National Industry Vocational Skills Competition — the finals of the Third National Postal Industry Vocational Skills Competition, he led the Beijing team to win the Group Winning Award, and he himself was awarded the prize for Excellent Technical Instructors.
Focusing on the hot and difficult issues in his work, Kang Zhi has created such working methods as six principles of delivery route design, ten principles of mail loading and the time control and scheduling method of delivery routes during the business peak period, which have greatly improved work efficiency and customer experience, and have therefore been widely used and promoted. Now, the innovation projects of Kang Zhi Model Worker Innovation Studio win funding support from the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions. And the “Little Bee” social practice base has been established to enhance people’s recognition and understanding of the postal and express industry.
