Wang Dejian is a postman of Danbu Post Office in Mengyin county of Linyi city under Shandong Postal Branch.

A “List of Shandong Martyrs” and a notebook recording the details of the search for relatives of heroes who fell are two essential items in Wang Dejian’s green mail bag. Cherishing a sense of sacredness in getting missions accomplished, Wang Dejian has been volunteering to find relatives for the martyrs since 2015, in addition to fulfilling his own duties as a postman. “To safeguard peace, the martyrs sacrificed themselves and were buried in a foreign land. Their families have lost their whereabouts. So I will try my best to find their families for them.” He said. After he succeeded in finding the relatives of the first martyr through his painstaking efforts, the Heze Martyrs Cemetery gave Wang Dejian a list of martyrs and asked him to keep searching for the relatives of the martyrs from Linyi. He also joined a volunteer alliance and began to search for relatives of martyrs with team efforts. Over the past nine years, Wang Dejian has found the relatives for 36 fallen heroes and the place where they fell for three heroes. Born in the Yimeng Mountains Revolutionary Base area, he has heard numerous revolutionary stories as he grows up, according to Wang Dejian. As a postal employee, he wants to do something for the martyrs, which he considers to be his original aspiration and mission as a party member.

In 2019, Wang Dejian and his deeds were reported by CCTV and touched thousands of viewers.
