Xinhua Daily Telegraph:Rural mail carrier committed to fulfilling delivery along his border postal route in Altay
|China Post News|2025-02-17

On February 12, Xinhua Daily Telegraph published a feature article entitled Snowfield postman Bieke: My fellow villagers are waiting for me on border postal route on Page 7. This article highlighted the remarkable dedication of Muhamaitibieke Muhamaitihali (Bieke), a rural mail carrier who has been working in Altay Postal Branch in Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region for 27 years, during which he has spent 16 consecutive years delivering mail on the snow-covered postal route linking remote border villages.

The border stretches over 5,700 kilometers in Xinjiang. And numerous border villages there nestle deep in mountains and river valleys, or scattered across the Gobi Desert and snowfields, where the natural environment is harsh and the traffic conditions are challenging. However, the 49-year-old rural carrier Bieke has been committed to fulfilling mail delivery along the border postal route in Burqin county, Altay prefecture.

Xinhua reporters have conducted a follow-up interview of Bieke for more than ten days. They joined him in sorting, transporting, and delivering mail items, and braved heavy snow, low temperatures and even avalanches alongside him. Eventually, they produced a feature article of over 5,000 words encompassing seven stories, which vividly told Bieke’s touching deeds in wholeheartedly assisting residents in pastoral areas. The article was written with sincere emotions and therefore resonated deeply with readers. So far, the page views of the article have surpassed 1.11 million times.
