On May 9, the first regular drone delivery route for low-altitude economy in Jiangxi successfully completed its maiden flight in Qingshan town, Anyuan district, Pingxiang city. This marks a significant achievement Jiangxi Postal Branch has made in collaboration with China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd. Jiangxi Branch (hereinafter referred to as Jiangxi Unicom) and the government of Anyuan district to tackle the last-mile delivery challenges in remote areas.
This drone delivery route, jointly established by the three parties, has dramatically reduced the delivery time for the 7-kilometer route—which previously took 50 minutes to traverse the mountains—to just 11 minutes. At the inaugural flight, the drone carrying newspapers and periodicals, mail items, and agricultural supplies took off from Qingshan Post Office, flew at an altitude of 120 meters along the planned route, and accurately landed at the site of villagers committee of Yuantou village. Relying on integrated sensing and communications technology, the whole process can be monitored visually to provide a solid guarantee for the safety of drone delivery.
After the successful maiden flight, Jiangxi Postal Branch, the government of Anyuan district and Jiangxi Unicom signed a deepened cooperation agreement, planning to carry out all-round cooperation in key areas such as drone logistics networking, 5G communications support and infrastructure sharing. As a pilot organization, Pingxiang Postal Branch simultaneously launched the construction of diversified application scenarios with “low altitude technology plus government affairs service plus police affairs service plus N” model at the Low-altitude Economy Industrial Park at Anyuan district, striving to create a regional low-altitude economy hub that radiates the border area of Jiangxi and Hunan.
