The 6th Mainland-Hong Kong-Macao Postal Summit was held in Hong Kong on June 17, 2025. During the summit, the delegates conducted exchanges on the overall status of postal development in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and carried out in-depth discussion and communication on many topics, including deepening business cooperation in response to international environmental challenges, postal service collaboration among the three regions in the National Games, as well as mail security and risk management. Mr. Algernon Yau, secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong SAR, Mr. Zhao Chongjiu, director general of the State Post Bureau, Mr. Liu Aili, chairman of China Post Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Post), Ms. Leonia Tai Shuk-yiu, postmaster general of Hongkong Post, and Ms. Lau Wai Meng, director of the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (hereinafter referred to as CTT Macao), attended and addressed the summit.
Mr. Algernon Yau stated in his speech that the summit provides a sustainable and effective platform for the postal services of the three regions to deepen communication and cooperation, strengthen policy coordination and resources sharing, and promote integration and exchanges in postal development. Given the complex and changeable international trade environment, postal services are faced with big challenges, so China Post, Hongkong Post and CTT Macao must work closely together and jointly respond to the challenges.
Mr. Zhao Chongjiu pointed out in his speech, since the 5th Postal Summit in 2023, the postal industry in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao has promoted complementary strengths and deepened exchanges and cooperation, with their collaboration increasingly boosted. The postal industry of the three places should continue to deepen high-level cooperation, make joint efforts to push forward the connectivity of postal networks, enhance the application of smart technologies, conduct high-quality philatelic cultural activities to step up people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and facilitate the implementation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area initiative.
Mr. Liu Aili said, China Post, Hongkong Post and CTT Macao have long been deepening pragmatic cooperation, jointly serving the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and meeting people’s needs for postal services in the three regions, thereby achieving tangible results. As the “national team” in the postal industry, China Post will upgrade the capacity of postal outlets to optimize public services, increase financial supply to support the development of the Greater Bay Area, and foster cultural exchanges to facilitate the integrated development.
Ms. Leonia Tai said, Hongkong Post has consistently been maintaining a close partnership with China Post in business cooperation, and continually exploring new collaboration opportunities. In strengthening philatelic culture innovation, the postal services of the three regions have jointly issued commemorative stamps, showcasing the cultural vein of shared ancestry and kinship ties. In infrastructure development, they have intensified collaboration to enhance mail processing capacity, and build an international logistics hub in the Greater Bay Area. She hopes that postal services in the three regions will work together to further advance progress and high-quality development of the postal industry.
Ms. Lau Wai Meng mentioned, CTT Macao will maintain coordinated development with China Post and Hongkong Post, share transportation capacity resources, safeguard mail security and risk management system, enhance connectivity of the delivery service network, and pool efforts to build the international logistics hub in the Greater Bay Area.
