On September 15, a truck loaded with braking system components from an auto parts manufacturer in Nanjing successfully arrived in Uzbekistan after exiting China via Irkeshtam Port, Kizilsu Kirgiz autonomous prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. This is the first batch of goods transported via the dedicated Belt and Road (B&R) logistics channel after it was opened by Nanjing Postal Branch in Jiangsu province. The new-opened B&R channel has significantly shortened the transportation time for the over-20-tonne goods, compared with the traditional routes. It has not only reduced the costs of cross-border logistics for enterprises, but also bolstered their confidence in exploring the Central Asian market.

This B&R logistics channel passes through the two national ports of Irkeshtam and Torugart, and connects the five Central Asian countries. It offers such services as commercial dedicated lines, road transportation and road-rail intermodal transportation on a long-term basis, providing a high-quality logistics solution for local enterprises and cross-border e-commerce clients in Nanjing.

In June this year, Nanjing Postal Branch launched the first land transportation project destined for Central Asia from Jiangsu. To this end, it established a professional service team covering marketing, operations, channel management, customer service, customs affairs and all other links. Under the support of self-filing customs declaration and full-process services, a total of 88 trucks of goods have been dispatched to date.
