Stamps issued to commemorate FAO’s 80th anniversary
|China Post News|2025-10-20

China Post issued a set of one commemorative stamp entitled The 80th Anniversary of UN Food and Agriculture Organization on October 16, with the design bearing the same name as the stamp.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (hereinafter referred to as FAO) was founded on October 16, 1945, with China being one of its founding members. October 16 every year not only marks the anniversary of the founding of FAO but is also celebrated as World Food Day.

The stamp design mainly features the FAO 80th anniversary logo. The blue circular background on the left symbolizes the planet Earth, while the foreground showcases a variety of foods and the Great Wall, the iconic element of China. Combined with the silhouettes of figures standing hand in hand, the composition echoes the theme of World Food Day 2025 -- Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future.

Printed with high screen ruling photogravure technology, the stamp exhibits saturated colors, refined details and rich texture of imagery. The gradation of hues transitions smoothly, with the overall printing effect accurately reproducing the vibrant tones of the original artwork. Under ultraviolet light, the fluorescent feature enhances both the anti-counterfeiting properties and visual appeal of the stamp.

The set of stamp is designed by Shen Jiahong, edited by Ji Yixuan and printed with photogravure technology by Beijing Stamp Printing House Company Limited. The denomination of the whole set is 1.20 yuan, and 4.6 million sets are planned to be circulated.
