China Post and COSCO Shipping launch strategic cooperation

On November 4, Chairman Liu Aili of China Post Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Post) held a working meeting with Chairman Wan Min and President Zhu Bixin of China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as COSCO Shipping) in Shanghai, where they jointly witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation framework agreement between the two parties.

 

 

Wan Min introduced the development strategies and operational performance of COSCO Shipping. He stated, COSCO Shipping, aiming to build itself into a world-class global shipping technology enterprise, is focusing on digital and intelligent empowerment as well as green and low-carbon development, accelerating the transformation of the global digital supply chain, vigorously developing green and low-carbon intelligent shipping, and making every effort to foster an integrated service ecosystem of shipping, ports and logistics. COSCO Shipping will strengthen cooperation with China Post in global shipping, air freight, overseas warehousing and other areas to achieve mutual benefit and common development.

Liu Aili expressed his appreciation for COSCO Shipping’s efforts in building a green, digital and intelligent integrated global logistics supply chain service ecosystem. He hopes that both parties will focus on global transportation, and develop tailored transport solutions and service products to address the individualized shipping needs of postal, commercial express, freight and warehousing services. In terms of domestic and international trunk line air transportation service, customs clearance service and end-to-end export transportation, both parties will expand chartered air cargo flights and enhance international air cargo capacity. Meanwhile, they will strengthen cooperation in financial services such as banking, insurance and securities, as well as in express and logistics services.

According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in global transportation, finance, parcel, express and logistics services, product resources and brand promotion. Both sides have agreed on establishing a strategic cooperation coordination mechanism to conduct detailed consultations, implement operations, and advance the execution of the cooperation projects.
