On December 14, the “Erenhot-Mongolia-Russia” land mail route officially commenced operation. This is another northward land mail route opened by Inner Mongolia Postal Branch in Erenhot, following the normal operation of the “China-Mongolia” land mail route from Erenhot.
The first truck of mail shipped via this route comprised cross-border e-commerce items covering daily necessities, small household appliances, apparel, accessories, etc. The mail exited China through the Erenhot highway port, traversed the transportation corridor in Mongolia, and directly reached the mail sorting center in Novosibirsk, Russia, achieving a full-process closed-loop service spanning from collection in China, transportation, customs clearance to overseas distribution. At the initial stage, the route operates three departures per week, with the overall transportation time for the international leg ranging from 5 to 10 days.
As is reported, since its opening in April this year, the China-Mongolia land mail route had cumulatively transported a total of over 810,000 mail and express items by the end of November, generating a foreign trade volume of 85.56 million yuan (about 12.21 million US dollars). With this route, mail can reach Ulaanbaatar in 12 hours at the fastest.
