China Post launches two international cargo and mail routes on same day
|China Post|2025-12-10

On December 9, China Post inaugurated two international cargo and mail routes from Guangzhou to Liège, Belgium and from Chongqing to Yangon, Myanmar. This is the first time that China Post has launched two international cargo and mail routes on the same day.

Operated by a Boeing 777F large wide-body freighter, the Guangzhou-Liège air route marks another intercontinental route launched by China Post, coming on the heels of the one-flight-per-day operation of its Luxembourg route, and also the second intercontinental air link of China Post directly from Guangzhou to Europe. The route mainly transports cross-border e-commerce parcels and high value-added goods such as electronic information products and parts of high-end equipment, injecting postal impetus into the efforts of developing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a global trade and logistics hub. At present, Guangdong Postal Branch is gradually densifying its international air logistics network centered in Guangzhou, while connecting Europe and Asia and radiating the whole world. Using narrow-body freighters for high-frequency connections to Southeast Asia and wide-body freighters for the main routes to Europe and North America, the network has formed a two-way logistics loop of “China-Southeast Asia-China–Europe and North America-China”. This model not only provides diversified cross-border transportation solutions, but also helps clients dynamically optimize seasonal air freight costs.

The Chongqing-Yangon route, operated by B737-800 all-cargo aircraft, is currently the only all-cargo air route between the two cities. With an air freight capacity of approximately 120 tonnes per week, the route will exert a long-term and positive impact on activating new industrial momentum of the two cities and promoting regional economic integration. As a key initiative China Post has taken to implement the strategic cooperation agreement with Chongqing municipal government, the route has formed an air-land complementary logistics network together with the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. As a result, it will strengthen Chongqing’s role as an international air logistics hub radiating the ASEAN and RCEP regions, and further boost the vigorous development of the advantageous and characteristic industries in Chongqing such as new energy vehicles, high-end textile industry and cross-border e-commerce.
