China Post resumes operation of two air routes for EMS fresh delivery of chilled meat
|China Post News|2026-01-08

On January 4, China Post simultaneously re-launched two air routes respectively from Shihezi and Xining to Nanjing for EMS fresh delivery of chilled meat in 2026, aiming to facilitate the outward transport of high-quality beef and mutton from Northwest China and boost local economic development. The two routes are operated by B737-800F all-cargo aircraft this year, one flight a day, seven flights a week. They are scheduled to run until the eve of the Spring Festival of Bing-Wu Year (Year of the Horse).

At 22:13 that day, a China Postal Airlines’ all-cargo aircraft bearing the EMS logo on its vertical stabilizer, loaded with 16.3 tonnes of fresh beef and mutton, took off from Shihezi Huayuan Airport in Xinjiang and arrived at Nanjing Lukou International Airport at 2:15 the next morning. The Shihezi–Nanjing route for EMS fresh delivery of chilled meat has entered its second year of regular operation since its inaugural flight in 2025, continuing to provide an efficient air logistics channel for products from Xinjiang. Leveraging this route, high-quality beef and mutton, agricultural and livestock products and other well-known local specialties from Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region can be transported quickly to more than 60 large and medium-sized cities in the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, enabling next-morning and next-day delivery.

At 23:55 on the same day, another China Postal Airlines’ all-cargo aircraft carrying 13.3 tonnes of fresh beef and mutton departed from Xining Caojiapu International Airport in Qinghai and landed in Nanjing at 2:25 the next morning. The Xining-Nanjing route for EMS fresh delivery of chilled meat is now in its sixth consecutive year of regular operation since it was launched in 2021. Every year, it can transport hundreds of tonnes of chilled meat, with a cumulative transportation volume of 2,386 tonnes over the past few years. This air route enables the premium beef and mutton from Qinghai to reach the major consumer markets in East China directly, effectively breaking the transportation bottleneck of fresh highland agricultural products and resolving the backlog during the peak season of production and sales. Furthermore, it helps raise the awareness of the green, organic and ecological brand of Qinghai products, enhance the bargaining power and income of local farmers and herdsmen, and inject strong impetus into rural revitalization in Qinghai.
