Recently, the Postal Savings Bank of China (PSBC) successfully launched its e-CNY business with the new measurement framework. With the balance in real-name e-CNY Wallets officially accruing interest, PSBC began to enter into the digital deposit money era 2.0.

The e-CNY department of PSBC’s head office collaborated with other business departments concerned in sorting out core requirements and finalizing business processes. The software R&D center advanced system reengineering and model refinements. It compiled over 60 core requirements, upgraded more than 50 associated systems, added and optimized over 100 functions, and executed over 4,000 test cases, leading the industry in the progress of R&D and testing. Equipped with self-developed Hot-CUT modules and gateway strategies, the e-CNY core system reduced the system recovery time objective (RTO) to less than two minutes. With the independently-developed interest calculation engine supporting flexible configuration and large-scale business scenarios, the technical team conducted on-site monitoring to ensure the smooth transition and enable a seamless upgrade for users.
