Since the establishment in 2023, the B777 Squadron of China Postal Airlines has been staying true to their mission and dedicating themselves wholeheartedly to their cause. With passion and a strong sense of responsibility, they have written a remarkable story of striving from scratch to excellence high above the clouds. Facing the challenges of the new aircraft model, unfamiliar routes and complex operational environments, the squadron smoothly took delivery of two new Boeing 777 freighters with their courage, skills and teamwork. Subsequently, they overcame numerous obstacles and successfully accomplished the inaugural flight of China Post’s self-operated intercontinental route from Nanjing to Luxembourg on June 26, 2024. In 2025, the squadron opened four more intercontinental routes, once again vividly demonstrating the spirit of China Postal Airlines.
In the absence of off-the-shelf experience and mature systems, the B777 Squadron independently drew up standard operating procedures and flight route manuals, achieving a breakthrough in establishing its operational framework from scratch. In the face of the new aircraft model, the whole squadron united as one and coordinated closely to overcome a series of operational challenges, forging a highly skilled, tough and resilient flight crew.
Spanning vast distances, the Nanjing-Luxembourg route is subject to complex flight environment along the way. To tackle the unfamiliar air routes, long flight duration and differentiated overseas operating environments, the squadron meticulously studied the features of every alternate airport, weather conditions and transnational flight procedures along the route. They repeatedly rehearsed the emergency response plans to ensure full mastery of the entire operational process and comprehensive control of potential risks. On June 26, 2024, China Post’s Boeing 777 freighter successfully completed its maiden flight, marking a groundbreaking record in China Post’s independent intercontinental air transport. Soon afterwards, the squadron promptly reviewed the operations, optimized its procedures, and rapidly progressed from the maiden flight to a once-a-week operation, and then scaled up the frequency to a regular operation of seven flights per week, which quickly enabled the intercontinental mail route to become a core artery for the development of China Post’s international business.
