At 10:00 a.m. on June 26, the Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as Macao 2026) officially opened at Cotai Expo Hall A, The Venetian Macao. The opening ceremony was officiated by principal guests including Mr. Tam Vai Man, representative of the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) and secretary for Transport and Public Works; Mr. Zhao Chongjiu, director-general of the State Post Bureau; Mr. Liu Aili, chairman of China Post Group Corporation Limited (China Post); Mr. Liu Decheng, director-general of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Mr. Fu Aimin, director of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Macao SAR; Ms. NG Hong Yiu, Una, assistant postmaster general of Hongkong Post; Mr. Lao Lan Wa, chairman of “Macao 2026” Organizing Committee and acting director of Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT); Mr. Prakob Chirakiti, president of the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP); and Mr. Huo Hui Xiao, general director of the Macau Philatelic Association.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of FIP. This was the first time that FIP had held the world stamp exhibition and concurrently the 78th FIP Congress in Macao. Through this exhibition, FIP aimed to build a global platform for philatelic exchange, enabling philatelists from different countries and regions to share their experience and promote the dissemination and development of philatelic culture across the world, and enhancing international friendship among the people of different countries.

During the exhibition, CTT issued three sets of stamps, respectively entitled Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition (Postal Label/Frama Stamps), Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition – A Journey Through Day and Night II and Macao Street Art. FIP hosted several thematic seminars and workshops on philately. The exhibition brought together 1,500 frames of competitive philatelic gems from over 50 countries and regions, including Traditional Philately, Postal History, Modern Philately and Youth Philately. The six-day exhibition consisted of theme days such as Stamp Day, Postcard Day, Art Day, Youth Day, Collection Day and FIP Centenary Day. Exclusive commemorative postmarks were issued, and special philatelic activities including lectures and postcard workshops were carried out.
