On July 7, China Post launched the Chengdu-Yangon international air cargo route, adding another efficient air freight channel connecting Southwest China with Myanmar.

The route is operated by a B757-200 all-cargo aircraft, enabling same-day round trips. With a maximum payload of approximately 29 tonnes, the aircraft can efficiently handle a wide range of time-sensitive shipments. The outbound cargo carried on the maiden flight consisted primarily of textile raw materials and fast-moving consumer goods for cross-border e-commerce, while the return flight carried Myanmar’s specialty agricultural and sideline products, including mud crabs, fresh produce and chilli peppers. Under the “express air transport plus rapid customs clearance” model, the commodities can reach the market as early as the same day. To date, China Post has built an air cargo network covering the Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia.
