On July 17, the Postal Savings Bank of China (hereinafter referred to as PSBC) successfully issued 2026 green financial bonds (Series 1) in China Interbank Bond Market. With a total issuance size of 5 billion yuan (about 740.7 million US dollars), this Series consisted of two tranches. Tranche 1 was a three-year fixed-rate bond with an issuance size of 2 billion yuan (about 296.3 million US dollars) and a coupon rate of 1.46 percent. Tranche 2 was a three-year floating-rate bond with an issuance size of 3 billion yuan (about 444.4 million US dollars) and an initial coupon rate of 1.48 percent.
The proceeds raised from the issuance, PSBC’s first issuance of carbon neutrality-themed green financial bonds, will be fully allocated to green industry projects with significant carbon emission reduction benefits. The issuance attracted extensive attention from the capital market and enthusiastic subscription from various institutional investors. The overall subscription multiple reached 3.99 times, with 71 institutions participating in the subscription, covering a wide range of mainstream investors including banks, funds, insurance companies and securities firms.

It has been successively recognized by the China Banking Association as an “Advanced Organization in Green Bank Evaluation” and has won honors including the “2025 Best Cases of Sustainable Development of Public Companies” awarded by the China Association for Public Companies. In March 2026, Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) released its latest results of ESG Ratings, in which PSBC leaped to AAA, the highest rating level.
