Kahala Posts Group CEO Meeting 2026 held in Hangzhou

On July 23, Kahala Posts Group (hereinafter referred to as KPG) CEO Meeting 2026 was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Chairman Liu Aili of China Post Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Post), also chair of KPG’s CEOs Board, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. CEOs and senior executives of postal operators from 11 KPG members attended the meeting, including Australia, Canada, Estonia, Spain, France, The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People’s Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand and the United States of America.

 

 

In his opening speech, Liu Aili stated, KPG is currently at a critical juncture where opportunities and challenges coexist, and transformation intertwines with restructuring. Meanwhile, market competition is becoming increasingly fierce. All KPG members must remain sober in strategic judgment, and embrace innovation and transformation proactively. They must continuously expand their commercial product portfolio, accelerate organizational strategic transformation, and deepen joint contribution, shared benefits and collaboration among members to respond to industry changes synergistically.

 

 

During the meeting, KPG formally admitted New Zealand Post as a new member. The CEOs and delegates of participating postal operators signed the agreements with CEO of New Zealand Post David Walsh.

The meeting discussed such topics as the annual project development of KPG, network quality improvement, updates on customs policies, commercial expansion projects, business expansion in non-KPG regions and strategic transformation. At the meeting, KPG members reached broad consensus on topics like improving network quality continuously to solidify the foundation for customer trust, responding actively to tariff challenges to speed up the scaled operation of commercial expansion projects, accelerating cooperation in non-KPG regions to expand new business development, and accelerating research on strategic transformation schemes to advance the modernization of governance structure. The meeting also reviewed and approved proposals on the improvement and optimization of network quality as well as the expansion of commercial products and services in non-KPG regions.

The meeting announced the winners of KPG Annual Awards. China Post won the Highest Performance Customer Service Award, Correos the Most Improved Customer Service Award, Hongkong Post the Highest Performance Operational Quality Award, and Canada Post the Most Improved Operational Quality Award.

At the CEO Roundtable, Liu Aili stated, KPG members should respond to the uncertainties of external environment with the certainty of mutual benefit. On behalf of China Post, he put forward four initiatives: moving along with the trend to scale up the development of commercial products from best practices; building consensus to accelerate the implementation of KPG strategic transformation projects; opening arms to expand KPG’s circle of friends; and taking a long-term perspective to coordinate the advancement of medium- and long-term development plan. He also called for making efficiency the yardstick for resolution, results the best testament to cooperation, and building KPG into the most vibrant shared home for global postal services.

The meeting concluded successfully on the afternoon of July 23, when Liu Aili handed over the rotating chairmanship of the CEOs Board to Martti Kuldma, CEO of Omniva.

From July 21 to 24, the KPG BOD Meeting was held in Hangzhou concurrently.

During the meeting, Liu Aili held bilateral talks with CEO Doug Ettinger of Canada Post and CEO Martti Kuldma of Omniva respectively. They signed relevant agreements to deepen cooperation.
