China Post issued a set of one commemorative stamp entitled The Ecological and Environmental Code of the People’s Republic of China Takes Effect on August 15.

On March 12 this year, the fourth session of the 14th National People’s Congress voted to adopt the Ecological and Environmental Code of the People’s Republic of China, which took effect on August 15, 2026. It is China’s second formal statutory code, after the Civil Code, and its first unified code in the field of ecological environment, marking the beginning of an era of codification of China’s ecological and environmental protection.

The design of this stamp combines graphic design with hand-drawn illustration. Integrating elements of the Code into a vibrant ecological landscape, the design unfolds a poetic picture of harmony between humanity and nature, implying strengthening ecological shields through the rule of law and safeguarding ecological civilization by institutional means.

Printed with high-precision offset technology, this set of the stamp features the Ecological and Environmental Code of the People’s Republic of China as the central motif. The offset printing yields pure colors, resulting in a clean and crisp layout with even and translucent hues. Applying gloss varnish to the elements of the Code creates a delicate sheen contrast under different light sources, making the motif of the Code visually prominent and the whole picture well-organized, and effectively reinforcing the texture and solemnity of the design.

The stamp is designed by Ma Lihang and edited by Wang Nan. Its planned circulation is 4.1 million sets.
