Henan Postal Branch launches Zhengzhou–Moscow test freight train
|China Post News|2026-05-28

On May 20, the first Zhengzhou–Moscow direct test freight express train departed from the China-Europe Railway Express (Zhengzhou) assembly center. Goods including Chinese-style accessories and blessing pendants, collected by Henan Postal Branch, were carried on the train and expected to arrive in Moscow in about 10 days.

The launch of this test freight train is a key initiative that Henan Postal Branch has taken to optimize its international parcel, express and logistics network and deepen its engagement in China–Russia cross-border logistics. When the route completes testing and enters into regular operation, Henan Postal Branch will fully leverage the advantages of the China-Europe Railway Express — such as lower logistics costs, fixed schedules, strong transport capacity, fewer categories of prohibited or restricted items and all-weather operation with minimal weather impact — to further expand its Russia-bound land-based mail transport channels upon the existing air and truck mail routes. It will enhance its layout of cross-border logistics accordingly, and accelerate the development of a comprehensive international service system integrating multiple products (services such as mail, commercial express, freight and overseas warehousing) and multiple transport channels (air, railway, sea and trucking), so as to effectively improve the autonomy, security and controllability of its international express and logistics system.
