China Post will issue a set of four commemorative stamps featuring the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics-Snow Sports, namely Cross-country Skiing, Alpine Skiing, Biathlon and Freestyle Skiing, with a denomination of 4.8 yuan (0.6896 U.S. dollars) on November 16, 2018. 

Sports on snow is a winter sport with a long history. At present, those listed as winter Olympic events include freestyle skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, luge, bobsledding, snowboarding, alpine skiing, etc. 

Cross-country skiing is a sport that uses skiing equipment and basic techniques, such as climbing, downhill skiing, turning and skiing on hills and snowfields. 

Alpine skiing originated in the Alps, and is also known as “Alpine skiing” or “mountain skiing,”and is a perfect combination of speed and skills, fitness and elegance. Biathlon is a sport that combines cross-country skiing and shooting. Freestyle skiing began in the 1960s and developed on the basis of alpine skiing. It is divided into snow skills, aerial skills, snow ballet and so on. 

This set of stamps was designed by Shen Jiahong, stamp designer of the Postage Stamp Printing Bureau of China Post Group (PSPB), and was printed by the Beijing Stamp Printing House using a heliographic printing process.
