China Post will issue a set of two commemorative stamps and a miniature sheet featuring the 40thAnniversary of China's Reform and Opening-up, namely Holding the Banner Highly, the Great Practice, and Building the Dream in a New Era, with a denomination of 8.4 yuan (1.2206 U.S. dollars), on December 18, 2018.

The Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee made the great decision that China will shift the Party's work to economic construction and the implementation of the reform and opening-up in 1978, which has opened up a new era for the development of the socialist cause. Moreover, 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of China's Reform and Opening-up.

The “Holding the Banner Highly” stamp mainly features the Shenzhen reclamation cow sculpture, the stock ticket sample of Shanghai Feilo Acoustics. Co. Ltd (SH: 600651), and the “Big Contracting” sculpture of Xiaogang Village in the central province of Anhui.

The words on the stamp are “Practice is the only criterion for testing the truth.” It implies that the Party Central Committee leads the people of all ethnic groups to forge ahead and find a road of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The “Great Practice” stamp mainly features the Great Hall of the People, the COMAC C919 aircraft  (Comac -the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd.), and the beautiful countryside after China took targeted measures in poverty alleviation, etc.

The words on the stamp are “Completing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects.” It implies that the Party and the state have made great achievements in various undertakings in the past 40 years of reform and opening-up.

The miniature sheet “Building the Dream in a New Era” features a Chinese totem pillar, Tiananmen Square, peace pigeons and a lively celebration of the people of all nationalities. It implies that the Party Central Committee leads the people of all nationalities in the new era to push forward the reform and opening-up and realize the Chinese Dream of the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

This set of stamps was designed by Li Zhihong and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing House using a heliographic printing process.
