China Post is to issue a set of commemorative stamp (one piece) for the 100th anniversary of the publication of the full Chinese version of The Communist Manifesto on August 22, 2020. The design of the stamp is entitled Centennial of the First Full Chinese Version of The Communist Manifesto. The denomination of the stamp is 1.2 yuan. Its planned circulation is 7.5 million sets.
Designed with sketch techniques, this stamp fully presents the scene when The Communist Manifesto was being translated into Chinese, and depicts the earnest and absorbed image of the translator Mr. Chen Wangdao vividly and meticulously. Together with the covers of the full Chinese versions, and the picture of The Communist Manifesto exhibition hall at Fudan University in Shanghai—the former residence of Mr. Chen Wangdao specially placed at the background, the theme of the stamp is highlighted, showing the great power of Marxism.
This set of stamp is designed by Li Chen, and printed via offset by Henan Posts and Telecommunications Printing House. To make the stamp content fuller and richer, its digital content will be released simultaneously. Viewers can also participate in a quiz and lucky draw.
