China Post is to issue a set of one special stamp entitled Hainan Free Trade Port on December 18. The denomination of the whole set is 1.20 yuan, and 4.9 million sets of the stamps are planned to be circulated.
The Hainan Free Trade Port will officially launch an island-wide independent customs operation on December 18, 2025. This significant initiative marks a new stage in China’s opening-up and is of great importance for accelerating the aggregation of high-quality resources worldwide and promoting the high-quality development of the Hainan Free Trade Port. The stamp design centers on the official logo of the Hainan Free Trade Port, with the tagline “Independent Customs Operation, Greater Opening-up” displayed in Chinese characters on the upper left corner. The background illustrates elements including Wuzhi Mountain, rice ears, a rocket, the “Shen Hai Yong Shi” deep-sea manned submersible and data transmission lines (printed in colorless fluorescent ink), all of which demonstrate a vibrant picture of the five strategic directions of Hainan towards seed breeding, deep-sea exploration, aerospace industry, digital economy and green industry for high-quality development, symbolizing that the Hainan Free Trade Port is forging ahead toward its goal of accelerating the development of itself into a free trade port with Chinese characteristics and global influence. The stamp takes a soft blue gradient as the basic color scheme. The high saturation feature of photogravure printing technology makes the colors of the stamp vibrant and bright and its texture distinct. Under ultraviolet light, a glowing lighthouse and cables with yellow fluorescence become visible on the picture, which not only enhances the visual appeal but also adds anti-counterfeiting properties and a fun interactive element to the stamp. The stamp is designed by Han Binghua, edited by Wen Wenya, and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing House Company Limited. This set of stamp will be available for six months at designated postal outlets nationwide, online mall of China Philately (https://jiyou.11185.cn), the mobile app of China Post, the WeChat Mall for philatelic products in the official WeChat account and the WeChat mini program of China Post Group. To present more information about the stamp, China Post will release the digital content through the WeChat mini program “Encyclopedia of China Philately and Stamps”, where philatelists can learn more about the stamp via its AR function. |
